Appendix

What does "activate a repo" mean?

Installing the GitHub App gives Ship the ability to see all the repositories inside your organization. Activating a repo is the decision to actually use Ship on that specific repository. They're two separate steps because most companies have many repositories but only want Ship watching a few of them.

Once you activate a repo, Ship can comment on pull requests, mirror your team's knowledge, and run scheduled work for that repo. Repos that are in the GitHub App's install scope but not yet activated will be visible to you in the Ship interface for selection, but Ship won't touch them — they stay inert until you decide to activate them.
